Those of you who are not feeling comfortable with the technicalities need not worry as you are well catered for. The owners of Second Life know that many would-be visitors feel just the same, so they've made it as easy as they can with plenty of help.

Don't rush. Avoid getting frustrated. Remember, you'll have to choose a name for your 'avatar' (your virtual person). Give yourself plenty of time to become familiar with the whole thing, i.e. don't sign-up just 10 minutes before you're due to join us! Ideally, do it a week beforehand and dabble without hurrying so that you're feeling confident before you come and join us.

Why bother? You'll see when you get there! This is a fabulous tool that our industry can use seriously. There's a lot to explore beyond our first CCTV control room!
